Project description

The project has contributed to the sustainability of the reception system for asylum seekers and refugees, providing the organisation and its beneficiaries with tools and knowledge in the areas of mobility and energy efficiency. The CPR is reinforcing its commitment by purchasing an electric vehicle for the daily transport of refugees, and to ensure access to services, with particular attention paid to new arrivals and those in particularly vulnerable situations. A total of 204 awareness-raising sessions on sustainability in mobility were held, along with 7 multicultural meetings on the theme of sustainability in energy use and transport, across the CPR’s three reception centres. The multicultural meetings provided safe spaces for intercultural dialogue, where applicants for international protection were able to share and learn together, culminating in the e-book ‘Pathways to Sustainability in Refugee Reception in Portugal – Sharing knowledge and experiences on sustainability in energy use and transport’.
